I recently read in an article that you should leave your address off your resume if you live far away. For me personally , I live in southern NJ and because most of the jobs I'm applying for are in NY and still haven't gotten anything , I'm wondering if it's OK to do this or if it actually really matters.

Do employers actually look at address's and possibly use it against you?

I don't have my address on my resume. The address on resume formatting is left over from the pre-email days when your first contact with the company may have been by snail mail. I do have my email address on there because chances are if the HR rep prints my resume from their email, they may not have the time or energy to search through the hundreds they receive.
