Even if your company where you are currently working didn't notice, I would imagine the hiring manager where you are applying would. You would not be a person I would want to hire.

I couldn't believe it when my legal friend used her work email for organizing her reno.
Every nutcase crackhead had her work phone/email and it almost cost her her job.

Part of my job involves management of email lists. I've become convinced that a small percentage of people get a work email address, then use it for EVERYTHING. Obviously not a good idea in some situations, especially here. Job search needs to be top secret from your employer. There is nothing secret to your employer in your work email. How closely they monitor it varies, but you can't take the chance.

That seems like one of the worst ideas I have heard of in a while - on multiple levels.

This is so tacky to do. I would never hire an applicant who had the cajones to apply using their current employers email. I have a family member who does this all the time - and emails me all day long as well. I have told her several times that it's going to get her fired but she's oblivious!

I'm gobsmacked that the question was even asked.

Since you asked the question, I am assuming you or someone you know thinks there is some positive reason for doing so. I am curious what could possibly support this.

If your work email is all you have access to during the day, that still isn't a good enough reason.

Probably not. But it might hurt your chances of KEEPING your current position.

Far better off opening up a Yahoo or Gmail account.
