After submitting my cover letter and resume, I was having a nice, quick conversation back and forth with the hiring manager at this new place, and she had asked me to turn in my application and materials as quickly as possible, and that she hoped I did so soon, looked forward to getting them etc. etc.

So I turned an app and stuff in later that same day, but the communication stopped from there. That was three days ago.

I know it's only three days, but I wonder if I should follow up just to see if they actually got the stuff? I would think with how nicely she was communicating with everything that she would have sent a confirmation just to say she got it and was reviewing it or something.

Should I send a quick polite follow up just to see if they got it OK?

Follow up with a professional, brief email. Simply tell the HM that you submitted an application and you are checking to see if it was received.

Keep in mind 3 days is not long. The HM could be busy, sick, on vacation, etc.

Plus, by submitting an app ou have entered a new catagory. You are no longer a prospect, you are an applicant. You need to be treated fairly and without discrimination. I don't communicate with applicants at all, unless it is on the interview schedule.

Well I followed up this morning over email. No response yet. Very strange. I guess I'll try not to think about it too much over the weekend and brace myself to move on by Tuesday if I haven't heard back...
