Below is a response to a thank you email I sent after a job interview. I think the interview went very well. I also think the response below is great.

Most likely interpretation: "We've narrowed it down to two or three potentials, and you're on the short list. We'll be making a decision this week and contacting all candidates on the short list". My advice is, take it as positive but don't pass on any other invitations to interview you might receive before you hear back from them. And if you don't get the position, don't take it personally ... it's just business and these decisions can be very difficult (plus I've seen positions evaporate before they're filled due to internal politics).
