I had the interview for my dream job last Thursday. I was told that I'm a strong candidate. And it feels like everything went well. Then they told me that the decision would be made next week (so it means this week now). It's a large company so it probably takes more time to decide and to bring everything together.
I sent a Thank you note last Friday. Do I need to send another note and when?
How long did you wait for an answer?
When a person says "next week," I usually give them an entire week before doing any type of follow-up. As you stated, the process could take a little time.
The first Thank You Note you sent was enough for now.
In the future, I would suggest asking them if there's a specific day in which you can follow back up with them if you don't hear a response.
I had an interview on Friday for an entry level job in my dream setting, and was also told the interview went "really well" (words of the hiring manager)...I asked as she was escorting me out of the building what kind of timeline should I expect for a response? She said it usually takes about 1 week. I was expecting to not hear from them until at least Wednesday or Thursday of this week, but nope they called me 9AM Monday morning and offered the job. I didn't even get the chance to send a thank you note. It's also for a large company, so there's that.
I thought that they would call me 9AM Monday morning - but they didn't and I understand that probably that's fine but maybe not - and they found somebody else. Or maybe they're still thinking and it would be a great idea to send another email. Or maybe it's not a good idea.
So I'm thinking and waiting and thinking ))

Thanks for your help!
I would wait until sunday night to send another thank you note to follow up on the status of the hiring decision. I don't recommend calling to follow up just send another email on Sunday Night so they will get it first thing Monday Morning.

Congrats on your offer but you did have a chance to write a thank-you note. You had all weekend. I've always sent a thank-you email the same day as my interview.
To the OP, wait until next week to follow up if you haven't heard.
Just call them today. Say you want to express ypur interest in the job again and to say that you look forqard to a rewardin career with them. Sell yourself, sell yourself, sell yourself. They may be down to two candidates and one of them is you. Make them feel like they are making the right decision by showingg how enthusiastic you are about the job. Stand put from the competition. Take control of the situation so you are not back on the forum posting "wha, wha, I didn't get the job"....
