Sometimes I wonder.
  • News pundits keep talking about how the Unemployment Rate is dropping and businesses are hiring, yet my personal job search seems to be getting worse
  • So many fake job positings that it's hard to know which ones are real
  • Rumors of secret recruiter blacklists that are shared between companies
  • Companies that employed Americans for many decades in the past are suddenly "unable to find qualified candidates"
  • Interview places and never hearing back
  • Same job posting up every day for 1 year, even after I interviewed there.
  • Impossible job requirements, e.g. 5 Years Experience with MS SQL 2012

As far a "fake" job postings go, stop looking on Craig's List.

The official unemployment rate may be dropping but remember that it doesn't count people no longer receiving UI or who have stopped looking for work.

Also, have you considered moving? Millions have had to do so over the years. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.

There maybe more jobs but they pay a whole lot less, not really a rebounding economy. 10-12 per hr to be in admin, you must have a bachelors degree, no real benefits or if they are there, they will cost more than any 12.00 per hr employee can afford, sorry that is not getting better.
