I need to get a good headshot of myself for my Linkedin page. I thought of just looking for a professional studio, but can't afford to spend an arm and a leg. In the old days, one could just go to Sears and get a portrait done with decent lighting and a neutral background.

Any tips on where to look?

Use your smartphone. Take a picture. Post it.

This isn't a make it or break it situation.

you can still do that...

You could also get a mug shot at the police station

Maybe just scan your driver's license?

Do a selfie pic from the bathroom mirror, that seems to be popular for the 20 somethings with no professional sense

Nah, don't think so. Worst still would be to scan my passport picture. Shuddering at the thought.

I really need this photo to look good. No iPhones. Maybe I can find a student photographer who would like some practice.

Find a friend with a camera and have them take a picture.

Walgreens. Tell the photo person what you want and for what reason. They will fix it up for you.

JCPenney does a great job, and it is reasonable.

I'm glad you are getting a professional photo for LinkedIn. It's critical.

Are there no more Sears stores in your area? We still have Sears in Texas, but they are shutting down fast.
