A few months ago, I interviewed a few candidates for entry level positions. The job description specifically said must have a valid DL because they will be issued a company car.

One guy looked promising so I had him come in for a second interview. When I looked out the window, I saw that someone had driven him there. After the interview, I asked him for his DL so I could fax it over to HR and get the process rolling. What? You don't have a DL? You can't drive? How will you perform your duties?

Never thought I'd actually run into a college senior who couldn't drive.

The interviewee interviewed the interviewer?
How did that juxtaposition happen?

It seems that, in addition to encountering a college senior who couldn't drive, you ran into one whose reading comprehension was...not so good. Why would somebody even bother to apply for a position whose job description clearly stated that a DL was necessary?

I guess I can add that to the list of things I observed today that defy logic.

Life is full of things that defy logic.

Just the other day, I got a report from one of my temps. In order to support the report, he had to attach the material ticket for the work done that day. The report said the work was done on the 10th. The material ticket said delivered on the 11th. It never occurred to him to ask the question how was the work done 1 day before the material was delivered?

I took the report to his desk and asked him if he noticed anything wrong? He looked and just shook his head.
