Yump. I get the dunce award.
So I have a gig starting Monday, temp but with an awesome company, and am still scrambling to find a permanent job since late Sept..
I.ve gotten a lot of nibbles: phone calls, interviews, other agencies calling, etc... Well I.ve been really busy and thought it was Rhursday. My GPS sent me to their former building so I was 10 minutes late. I got the location right and raced in. The HR gal was nice, we did laugh, but holy cats I was embarrassed!

Do i have a chance or should I make other plans instead. Um, yea, I screwed up/'-`\

No I don't think you blew it. I would still show up tomorrow for the actual interview.

If it makes you feel any better, I was a full week early to an interview this past summer. I had in my head it was on "Tuesday" but totally overlooked which Tuesday. And though I had the same fears as you about it affecting my chances, the fact is the interviewer didn't even mention it. The receptionist teased me about it, but there was no indication that she ever told anyone.

Showing up early is generally not a bad thing ever. If you consistently mess up days though it could be bad but to me this isn't bad.

Funny story about resilience.

A couple years ago, there was a huge snow storm. We got several feet of snow. Most people just stayed home that day. I was one of the dummies that decided to drive to the office that morning. When I got there, the parking lot was pretty much a mountain of snow. So, I turned around and left.

A couple days later, my boss dropped by my office and told me there was suppose to be an interview that day for a college student who wad due to finish school in May. No one told him not to come that day, so he came. The poor guy took the train in and walked to our office in the snow storm. He waited there for hours for anyone to show up.

He ended up getting hired and had a job lined up for him right after graduation. I guess there was no doubt in anyone's mind he really really wanted the job.

Thank you all for the stories. I did not hear back about that job. The HR person was 17 if she was a day and had creepy eyes AND a power trip to boot. Good riddance. The search continues although I am feeling quite dejected today.
