oh, well you always want to have questions ready. It can be silly things like their culture, management style, etc or things that came up through the interview that made you question something

I would ask how the managerial style is. Try and find out whether the hiring manager can present any clues as to whether your future boss is the micromanager type.

This is pretty standard; but not all interviewers enjoy answering people's questions. I assume that they're probably burned out after interviewing a few candidates in one day. Add on that the other things they have to do in a typical day and they don't want to answer more than a couple questions. They've got other things to do.
