Details are missing here. How do you know it was a mistake? Did they directly say "Because you didn't accept the beer and consume it in front of us, we are not making you an offer?". There very well could be other reasons that have nothing to do with the beer.

I would not take it for many reasons, but I would also end the interview and leave. Any company that regularly consumes alcohol openly on the job like that has bigger problems.

I would not accept the beer nor would I drink mid day while at work.
I am not a big drinker anyway so the chance of me wanting a beer at
that particular moment is very close to nil.

True, but my wife told them she does not like beer. Didn't help..Again this is a worldwide beer maker/distributer.
