listen i know the answer is "it depends" and "depends on your priority", but given what is below (no need for more details), what would you do?

both are silicon valley startups, both same market

company A - current company
older company, has had buyout offers
paid very well, overpaid actually
travel a lot, too much for me
bad rapport with CEO (he doesn't like me, he is pretty open about his dislike for me)
can't move up the latter (because 1. CEO doesn't like me and 2. company is pretty established with hierarchy)
really like the people i work, they are cool

company B
company is young, about 1/2 the age of company A. because of that, it's 1/2 company size of company A. it's product is also 1/2 as mature of company A. basically, there is more risk
-5% salary cut, same equity as company A (this has already been negotiated, this is their final offer)
they have "promised" me less travel
people so far during interview not as cool as company A

OP, are you currently employed? If so I would work for "company C" as another poster suggested. If you're currently unemployed, I would take the offer from company A; you can work there until you find another job. Company A seems to have a lot of desirable qualities notwithstanding that the CEO doesn't like you.

Well, are they startups, or are they google and apple? OR are you just bored and making things up?

You are unhappy at company A, and going to company B does not improve things.
C is still the best answer.

Yes employee by A. I'm not unhappy to the point of looking for a job, company B just came along. I'm fine at A

It doesn't matter what type of company, that is irrelevant

My son works for A. also.

My opinion is your boss cannot change A.'s benefits-stock options, 401K, great health benefits at a reasonable price (compared to most) and such. Plus Perks. And the people around you are cool you said. Your boss could always leave for another job or get promoted. I'd stay with the current employer.
