My older sister claims she has her real estate license and being a certified paralegal. I beg to differ and would like to find out the truth once and for all. Although she was absent minded and forgot that computers keep a step by step record of web sites visited, I saw for myself that her claims of passing her online classes in hopes of obtaining certification in paralegal. She forgot to erase the history of her academic achievements, or rather academic Failures. Her grades where consistent I'll give her that, straight "F"s across the board. Yet she remains firm in her success of passing the courses. How can I prove her deception, not publicly of course, this is personal.

Some states have their own licensing exam to be a certified paralegal. There is also a national agency that administers a certified paralegal exam. The school she went to should have a database of alumni. It's probably best just to let it go.

Sounds to me like a sibling issue, and not a concern for the forum.

To what end? She is living in a fantasy world, leave her alone.

Paralegals are the overeducated gophers of the legal world. They do the crap work nobody else wants to do. They clean up messes and take the blame. Lawyers treat their secretaries better. Every law school intern and lawyer without experience goes to work as a paralegal. Then you have the secretaries who do their work AND the paralegal work. Paralegal is oversaturated and overhyped. I fail to see why anybody would want to go into that kind of work. You really have to have the mindset of a servant. Except a really good servant who works for the rich makes serious $$$.

I have a close family member who is a lawyer. She says she appreciates her paralegals and treats and pays them well.
