A week ago I had a very good with Safeway as a part of a job fair, the interviewer gave all the signs that he was interested in hiring me. On Sunday I got an e-mail by Safeway saying "Congratz on your successful interview, Save your App as final and alert the store director by email that you did so and then we can give you a job offer". I completed as final and responded to the e-mail saying I had done so, asking how to contact the store director by e-mail. No response what so ever. I've read the email over a thousand times and it told me no way how to contact the store director by email. I looked at my safeway account to see if there was a way. Nope. Should I call them and ask for his email? Maybe the fact that i didn't update my app when i saved it as final doomed me. I don't know.

Even better.

And bring your application, resume, etc. Don't dress like a frump.

Tell them what happened, explain yourself well, be nice, smile, and be enthused without overbearing.

Best of luck.

I just called them. Gave them my name and number. He said he would tell the Store Director to give me a call. And then he said the Store Director would be "on" (assuming online) in an hour or two.

Being "on" may be being on shift or coming to work.

Umm, if the e-mail truly did say, "Congratz on your successful interview, Save your App as final and alert the store director by email that you did so and then we can give you a job offer"., then I call scam or some type of nonsense. WTF sends a professional job acquisition e-mail with such horrific grammar?????

Tru dat!

OP being 'on' for retail is at the store. I would highly recommend going in person and talking to the store manager. You'll give a better impression and get an answer right there.

The store manager isn't going to want to be bothered. You have to go the "HR" person at the store.
