Has anyone ever got into a situation like this? At the end of my interview I was told that I am one of the finalist and that I should hear back on monday. The next day I received an email with follow up questions. Anyone ever seen something like this and what can I take away from this?

What kind of follow up questions? I imagine they are trying to decide between you and someone else.

Don't panic. You are a strong candidate but maybe they received questions from someone higher up the food chain. Happens all the time. The hiring managet wants to go ahead with you, shows your credentials to their boss and then the boss has some other questions. You dont have the job until you are sitting at your new desk and getting a paycheck.

I would answer by saying that you are happy to answer any and all questions, and that it is probably best to set up a phone call in case any other questions come up as well. You know how things can be misenterpreted via email so it is best to talk it over.

Questions regarding a discussion we had, also he wanted to know other skills not related to the job description that I can offer.

Just got an email from them saying that they need more time to review everything with the team and that I will get an answer by the end of this week. Really hope I can get this. Should I reply back to this email?
