Hi all,

I have a question regarding pre-employment background checks.

Is it normal that I haven't heard anything since I submitted my information form for the background check? I only heard about one part of my background screening which came back clear after a few days, but I haven't heard anything since (education, employment, criminal records).

I had already submitted degrees, references, payslips when submitting my information form (it was optional, but since I had them already, I chose to submit everything).

They contacted me the day I submitted my information to get additional information which I submitted with official documents. I haven't heard since.

I don't have a criminal record and no tickets (I don't drive). I stated the correct degree GPA, school and employment dates/titles.

Is it normal I haven't heard from them? So far, they've only contacted me when they needed further information.

Do they only contact you when there's something to clarify?

Let them finish, they told you how long and you're only halfway into it.

My company took almost a month to vet my background so don't worry about it. They said it would take ~10-15, and it hasn't even been that yet so you'll be fine.

If they told you 10-15 days, why is this even a question?

I have a good reason why I'm asking the question which has nothing to do with curiosity or the info I submitted/relevant to the background check.

Took nearly six months for me, just wait. The worst that could happen is they say no. No reason to worry really

This alone is what has me stressed out for the past week. That's the very reason I'm anxious. Your post made me even more anxious now.

I have a question though. If something (red flag) comes up, aren't they supposed to contact you right away?

Or would they wait until the end of the background check? It isn't exactly how HR explained it to me.

That's pretty much the point of my thread. Is it good or bad news if they don't contact you at all?

There's absolutely nothing you can do except wait so stop stressing. Only worry about things you can change and right now it's out of your hands. There's no right answer to know if they'd contact you right away or wait since everyone does things differently. Deep breaths. Again, worrying about what you cannot alter won't help.
