I personally wouldn't do this. Too much risk of being rejected involved.

Exactly. I think it's an excellent idea. Often we would record client conference phone calls, to make sure the details weren't missed. After the call was over, it was transcribed and the recording was then destroyed.

I personally found this extremely helpful, because I could analyze how I conducted myself and was able to improve the phone meetings. I think doing this for phone interviews for a job is a very good idea. You can learn a lot by listening to yourself later on to critique what actually took place at the time vs. how you felt about it during the conversation.

It's the reason they interview phone over the phone and not just send you e-mail of questions to answer.

What's the name of the app you're using and is this for the iPhone?

If you have a device set-up to do this all the time, then people leave it on. Then if they need to refer to a previous phone conversation, they can retrieve it. "What was the time of that meeting? Was it at our office?".

You can set the app to record all, on demand whatever you want.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as you only use it for practicing and self-improvement. I can understand why companies may not take it very well, though, especially the interviewers who tend to ask controversial, discriminatory, or insulting remarks. Don't want that on tape!
