I was recently contacted by another resume service while in the process of searching...this one seemed a bit different, the preliminary critiques seemed a bit harsh though most likely necessary. But I wonder if it was a sight intimidation technique to get me to use their services. One of the critiques went like this :
The raw data, pulled directly from your resume-
"Your experience appears to be concentrated in Sales / General, with exposure to Marketing / Channel Management. You have 25 years of work experience, with little or no management experience."
Ok so...what of it? It's not like I can go back in time and apply for management experience, there are reasons for that. One is I didn't think I was ready early on,another was that after speaking with managers at my jobs it still seemed a bit overwhelming and frankly not worth the stresses. Also should I have bothered applying for manager if I or they didn't think I qualified?...Does it make me any less of a prospect if I seemed more like a follower than a leader? Not everyone can or may even want to take on those responsibilities. I've spoken with people over the years who were just fine with their positions...
Not especially...it was just a general resume critique.
