Hi everybody...

I've begun embarking on my job search journey...I'm wondering what website people have had the best luck using in order to land a job if any? So far I have used LinkedIn, Idealist.org, Indeed, and Craigslist.

If you are in a particular field, the best place to look for a job are job boards specifically for that industry. The public sector has several, oil and gas has rig zone, etc. Also, if the field has a professional organization, check that out too.

So, I used to work for one of those sites you mentioned. Basically, if you don't have any particular companies or know specific job titles you're looking for, I would post your resume and set up job alerts on Indeed based on location, key words and experience.

If you do have an idea and a few years of work experience, LinkedIn has a more direct job search. Then I would try the company website and industry specific sites. And then just pray. That's the main thing I learned after working with HR & Talent Acquisition teams, lol.

Indeed is probably the best. Some other sites I have bookmarked in my past 15 months of unemployment: Monster, SimplyHired, LinkdIn, CareerBuilder, Glassdoor, and Jobs.Net
