LinkedIn should absolutely not be a tool used to contact HR to ask about status of jobs.

Honestly, I hate when people try to LinkIn with me because I am HR when they have no association with me. I am using LinkedIn to keep up with colleagues, network, and find solutions. It's kind of like a telemarketer that tricks you into answering the phone.

I had to get off LinkedIn, it was getting to be too weird. Getting requests from people I don't know everyday

I hate requests that are not customized. It only takes a minute to write "we worked together at company xyz"
