I don't know how many times this topic has been done, but it doesn't hurt to have a fresh one! So, list your tried and tested job searching tips. What have you done that was outside of the norm that landed you a gig? What set you apart from other job candidates?

Note: Please, refrain from being rude. I know it's in some of you all's nature to belittle others. I suggest you seek therapy. City-Data is not a place to virtual abuse others because of your short-comings. With this being said, rude/argumentative posts will be reported.

The only recommendation I will make is don't believe all the negativity towards Craigslist. It might not be Indeed... but it's still a good site with a lot of good job listings... like the $100k + job I've been at the last 4 years.

Be patient
Keep searching and interviewing
Don’t get all excited about a job opportunity only to be disappointed later. Until you are employed..you aren’t
Don’t take it personal..the job was filled by a more qualified applicant.

I am re-evaluating ME in my job search. After viewing job boards since Feb. I have decided that my current job is still the best place for me. So, I am looking for ways to step up my game and improve upon how I perform.
While not giving up..I will ride it out for awhile. I have freedom, good income, great benefits. Not micro-managed.
