Does anyone upload their resume to indeed or other job sites? I know there's the potential that your current employer will see it, but i work with only 7 people, and i'm pretty sure they are not looking at indeed.. they are all very much set on staying at the company. Is there any risk to uploading? how does it work? can anyone view my resume or only employers?

Thanks!

It is a good idea for a software job. I had mine up last year, was contacted for a job and eventually accepted an offer when I wasn't actively looking. This year, no such luck even when actively applying for a job. I do not get robocalls or spam.

I put it up on Indeed, but I got nothing but foreign recruiter spam for the email account that's used only for job searches. I started getting phone calls from recruiters with thick accents. None of the jobs were relevant to what I did. Nothing panned out. I took my resume down after a month or two. I preferred recruiters contacting me through LinkedIn InMail. If the opportunity is right, I respond with my phone number. My number is not listed in my contact info.

If you are in tech, Indeed premium service for employers. You take some tests and your scores are available for searching by employers.

In the end, I stuck to a recruiter that came from LinkedIn for the past 2 contracts. LinkedIn works great for technology or fast growing companies.

I put it up, nothing's come of it but I haven't gotten spammed either. Figure it can't hurt, though recruiters probably use LinkedIn more.

If you're really concerned about your current employer seeing your resume on Indeed (not necessarily just the OP) couldn't you use a fake name and not use the name of your current employer? Say you work for ABC Bank, can't you just put down "Local Financial Institution"?

Years ago I worked for an employment agency on Long Island and most of our client's didn't want prospective employers to know where they were working and we didn't want them to be contacted directly either. This was in the days before the internet.
