I'm living in California (Bay Area) but have been contacted for Executive Level roles on the East Coast.

Question - As part of a relocation package, is it reasonable to still ask for home closing costs as part of the package? I've read that companies are cutting back at this. However, it would be a major financial hit for me not to have this and would likely drive my willingness to relocate in general.

How would we know what your new employer does? Ask what they offer for relocation. What is negotiable and what is not.

It wouldn't hurt to ask before accepting the offer; it should be a no-brainer for such a benefit to be provided to an executive role.

... for money to cover various expenses? Of course.
Focus on a nice big whole number but not what specifically it might get spent on.
