Good news! They proposed a start date in January and I accepted. That's perfect because I can go on my trip and visit my parents in NC for the holidays. I can start fresh in January.

My last day at my current position will be 12/21 and I will put in my notice when I return on 12/10. My only concern is this isn't two weeks. I'm considering sending an email to my supervisor exactly two weeks before 12/21 while I'm on my trip. Is this appropriate or should I wait?

Good for you. Good luck. A couple of days isn't going to matter, and you already have a job lined up. You are going to leave a bad taste in their mouth either way.
