I have always wanted to know this, like do employers have systems that automatically deny applications sent during the weekends? And is it okay to apply for jobs during the weekend as long as it is online? I know for sure it is not okay to apply in person during the weekend.

Absolutely. Employers take note of when the applicants submit. It can show you are diligent.

Go for it.

I honestly wouldn't know why you wouldn't. It only shows initiative on your part.

I don't know where you got this idea from, but you can apply anytime on line. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Doesn't make a difference.

LOL, honestly, my husbands' parents, they often discourage it. They told me that it looks bad to the employers(why would it, I have no idea!). I thought the same thing you all thought, but now I know. Thank you all for your responses.

Are you in-laws retired? The job market is not the same it used to be. Why would you avoid applying on the weekends, whether online or in person? If a business is open on the weekends, I figure it's fair game!

No, they are not retired however they have worked for the same company for about 25 years and in that case yea in the 80's the job market was entirely different.

The fact that the job being posted is probably not a real opening, i don't think it matters when you apply.

I know when I look at our online applications, I do not care at all what day of the week or time it was submitted. No manager I work with does. Apply whenever is best for you.
