Doing a job shadow for half a day on Tuesday...they called me earlier today and I confirmed. It appears like I almost have the job locked up if I play my cards right.
If you are doing a "Shadow" then you are working,, you are getting paid. So, yes, you got the job.
i had an interview today, and it was a group interview with a pre imployment exam to do(health care) i felt pretty confidant, but there were another 4 people 3 girls and 1 guy, one of them i know she did horrible because she kept talking and talking about things that dont make sence and every question asked she went way of topic and didnt really answer the question, the guy was studdering because he was nervous but he is really nice, the other girl didnt know the answers to questions asked and the other actually did really good and as for me i probably screwed up some where but didnt notice because of being nervous. i dont know if i got the job but i know i did the best i can and now its the waitting game, waitting for a phone call or a letter. i pray i got it because i love that place. anyway though i would share my experiance, good luck to you all abd if u dont get hired its ok god has better plans for you and something good aventually come your way.
When you get the phone call, offer letter with salary and start date. I've learned to never jump the gun from previous experience. Also if you sound too excited when they offer you the job, there goes your counter offer for higher pay.

I agree, nothing matters until that offer letter comes
I had an interview with the most unreadable person I've ever met. She didn't seem interested in my portfolio (I work in a creative industry so usually the portfolio review is the bulk of the interview). The interviewer was the owner & founder of the company (of 25 years) and yet she read from a script to describe the company culture. She asked questions from a list rather than letting the conversation flow naturally. So I'm not getting my hopes up. I think I've got a 40/60 chance of getting a call for the next round of interviews.
Like everyone else said, you know you got the job when you get the offer.
Yup - getting an offer is usually the sealed deal. However, in rare cases it can still fall through after that as well - let's say you don't pass a drug test or something pops up in a reference check. Rare to happen.
Kodaka, about that interview you recently had. Even if they did make you an offer at this point, would you accept? On a scale of 1-10 how excited were you in that interview? Sounds like you weren't too impressed, is that where you can see yourself happy?
Yeah, I don't know that I want to work for that company. But frankly, 'happiness' is a luxury I cannot afford.
And I'm starting to think that trying to find fulfillment in a job, like my generation believes so strongly in is just a recipe for unhappiness. My grandparents were pretty happy, and their jobs weren't fulfilling. They were a janitor and a secretary, but that didn't define them. They had college degrees in subjects that were fascinating to them. They had children. They had a farm. They had their church and their social clubs. These were the things that fulfilled them. How wise they might have been.
I don't know your situation, if you are out of work, I completely understand. And in that case, not a bad idea to take the offer if given, because if you don't like you can seek again while employed and funny how it works, but easier to do so while being employed... let me know if I can help
