I've probably done about 30 interviews altogether. Not an incredible amount, but I've just had my strangest one so far.

It was over the phone. I was asked a series of questions. The guy asked what one of my strengths are. Asks what I'm great at.

Okay, I gave him one pretty quickly. He asks me for another one. I say okay, give him another one relatively quickly. He asks me for another one. Okay, give him one more relatively quickly. He asks for another one...I pause for a moment. Then he gives me an example that was something completely different than what my other answers were. So, I go on and give him two more answers similar to the example he gave me. Why he didn't just tell me he meant something else before I gave him 3 answers and paused, I don't know.

This makes me think the company may be looking for someone with a specific strength, and he was helping you get to the right answer. That can probably happen when the recruiter is finding a position difficult to fill and just wants it off his/her desk.

At any rate, good luck.

That makes some sense. It said the job was posted some time ago. I applied and was contacted almost immediately. Almost want to think the guy was trying to see how many answers I could give off of the top of my head.

I'll keep looking and see if he follows up with the next step.

Just a little update. Looks like I must've said the right things, because I got an email back a few moments ago. They want me to come in for an in-person interview.

Next time you give a strength explain how it will help you succeed in that position.

Well, I did the with the first one I gave. Only a matter of time before you run out of stuff to say though.

Perhaps, this is true. It appears I passed their test.
