Ok Maybe I was wrong to say everyone is a loser who works at a fast food place but it is normally because they have a criminal background or don't have a diploma and have no idea they can do a lot better if they get the right support.
You make a LOT of assumptions, which as usual are wrong. The average McDonalds worker is there because the hours fit their schedule, or they get tuition reimbursement for college, or they are aware of the management potentials with the company for those without college educations. Next time you decide to badmouth an entire industry, you should get your facts straight, because all you are doing is making an ass out of yourself.

You are not going to tell me on July 18, 2009 that every single worker in Mcdonald's right now are there because of the advancement opportunities. Now if you are telling me that you would be making a a$$ out of yourself.

Dude, you need to learn to read. Where did I say "every single worker in Mcdonald's right now"?
fast food gastronomy: highly simplified work requirements + extremely short training periods + non sustaining pay scale from the bottom to the "top" of the branch hierarchy + oh you know, all the other bad boy things corporate does to it's employees only at it's most blatant...
equals: exploitation... equals:
on food stamps to supplement families nutrition, on emergency medicaid after every labor and delivery, in emergency rooms for dehydration after flu given that medication is unaffordable without insurance, avoidance of any medical diagnostic tests (more expensive than a fatal heart attack), no savings, 2 months away from the financial catastrophe or a little bankruptcy love...
advancement!
we may not have universal health care but man we got hope!
there, the cowboys have pants don't they, people are just thankless these days...
Here's some advise: Do not be rude to the receptionist! You wouldn't believe how many potential applicants throw their resumes or are just plain nasty to the receptionist. You don't have a second chance to make a first impression.

This is true, and when I said this in another thread you'd be surprised how many informed me in not so nice a way that the rece[tionist has no influence over hiring decisions. He/She sure does when they let the people that do the hiring know how rude the applicant was!

I wonder do the receptionist share part of the blame for someone being rude because if the receptionist is greeting everyone with a smile and being pleasant, what would give someone a reason to be rude?

Because some people think that a receptionist is a half step above a fast food worker, therefore they must be a loser.

Unless a person is on drugs or have qualifications for the Nut House, i don't see any reason why they be rude unless the receptionist provoked it with his/her attitude and demeanor.
