I was just being funny with the other answers but seriously what is a weakness
that would be something they have never heard of before...
In my interview I said type 55 WPM and trying to get it up to 85WPm. But of course typing was not part of my primary duties because then it would have sounded crazy. I explained how increasing my typing speed would help me in certain parts of my job.
Five years ago when I interviewed for my current employer, they asked me this question. Despite being in the workforce for almost 20 years at the time and going on multiple interviews during that time, I didn't have an answer.
Finally I said something along the lines of, "Can I be honest with you? I don't have any weaknesses. I've been doing my job for almost 20 years. If I haven't learned how to do it effectively by now, then I never will. But I AM effective and I'm very good at what I do. I could give you a pat answer about being a perfectionist, but the fact of the matter is that I'm a really good admin and will accomplish a lot for your department when you bring me on board."
They hired me.
