Personal choice. Keep in mind we don't have a Hell. We spend 11 months in Pugatory (some will get 12) where we go through a deep cleansing then we ALL head to the same Heaven. There are 613 opportunities to do the best you can do and there is no failing score.

That's my reference book when certain parts of the Torah don't make sense. But the key word is "reference" and not replacement.

Richard, the Talmud is Torah. Don't let a non observant Jew lead you astray. The Torah has both a written (5 Books of Moses) an an Oral (Babylonian and Yerushalami Talmuds) component. Pretty simple concept. To say that the Talmud is just a collection of opinions is a deeply unJewish concept.

Morally and Ethically; Yes it should if one follows the Torah. But those who follow the Talmud, state the Torah is useless just as the Christians who follow the NT who also state the Torah is useless (or non binding). So who is the real Heretic?

The Torah is the most amazing "book" ever written. But to read it out of context (without the benefit of the Talmud) makes you no different than the Chrstians who quote bible passages out of context.
