That is what is so great about the world. You don't have to have a deeper understanding of what it is to be a Jew.

SO MEAN, you set me up for a fall and I know all the mountain will be brought low and every valley raised.

I think I should be intolerable if I found out that my parents had been lying and it turned out that I was a Jew through and through.

I would put my picture in the paper the next day and say that I am the Jew that ten men grasp the garment of and I would set in to forming a congregation by the numbers that the Talmud insinuates. I would promise to give each one of them my name and give each one of them instructions.

As Bizarre as this idea might sound, a million Gentiles would call trying to be a part of my congregation, and I believe every Jew stands as a symbolic person who should stand in the breach between God and mankind just as the priests symbolized lambs to redeem all the first born sons of Israel. One priest to one first born but then we see ten men to one Jew,we see it expanded, and I like how this idea is expanded on in the 4 corners of a man's dress, that each corner represents a congregation of gentiles in their numbers and how that one Jew redeems many. I think of Cain and Ishmael, and Esau as first born sons and how they represent gentiles in my mind's view.

May I remind you I am seeking my place in this wonderful creation The Most High has brought me in. Since my ancestors were stripped completely of self-identity, self-knowledge, as well as as their way of worship. I have only looked for the truth and will not rest til I find it, and won't rest then Hannibal.
Tell me what Sabbaths and Holy days you observe and be honest, and I will give you my honest opinion about who you are, and what I think of white slave owners and African Americans.

The mother is Jewish, then the person is not a goy. I believe the case spoken about was that there was a claim to other ancestors (not necessarily matrilineal nor even known) who are claimed to be Jewish or a person who is not Jewish who simply claimed to "have Jewish blood" by some vague ancestry. These claims do not make someone Jewish -- only an assessment of lineage and a review of genealogy by those versed in halacha can do that. And, yes, I'm a rabbi.

Nope. I have never been to Lakewood. I happen to live a bit north of there.
