I wasn't one of the people clamoring for this. I think it's just going to attract the kind of postings that nobody really wants to see.

My grandmother came from a shtetl; it's entirely possible that her spoken Yiddish was several degrees less than formal. (I will say, though, that I've never heard anyone in New York say 'gay avace.')

Your transliteration is off, whtat were trying to say: Gay means Go. Vace means ? Avace(avek) means Away.

Or maybe you are trying to say Vais which means stuff, but then it would be Gut Vais which means Good stuff as to complement for something.

As to NY it has a big Vants problem.
