My power has been out for a couple days thanks to the storm that hit the mid atlantic. When did all these forums come about?

Is there really a Judaism forum???

I wasn't one of the people clamoring for this. I think it's just going to attract the kind of postings that nobody really wants to see.

As they say in a certain Eastern European language, "Gay vace."

Gay vace.
Shouldn't that be "Gay Avace"

I was just surprised to see that they had added all these forums, but glad to see this forum. Who are the moderators?

My grandmother came from a shtetl; it's entirely possible that her spoken Yiddish was several degrees less than formal. (I will say, though, that I've never heard anyone in New York say 'gay avace.')

Your transliteration is off, whtat were trying to say: Gay means Go. Vace means ? Avace(avek) means Away.

Or maybe you are trying to say Vais which means stuff, but then it would be Gut Vais which means Good stuff as to complement for something.

As to NY it has a big Vants problem.
