Apparently, that doesn't apply to a certain poster when a Chabad house is trying to set up in his area.

Well my feelings of that is because the Rabbi who suppose to be a Rabbi (and got kicked out of the congregation) has tried to buy my house, is why I feel the way I do. He's trying to make this area a commune and/or all Jewish area and telling the people whose homes aren't for sale and has lived here longer than he has, that "this is a Jewish area" and other things to con them out of their home like he has me....and I am of the faith~! That burns me up so much that he stole big bucks of donated $ and has purchased 6 homes and 2 of them are rented. He hasn't let anyone see the books of what is going on and he is a crook~!

That was a very interesting comment.

Do you think non-observant Jews or even Reform Jews feel a little guilty they are not more Conservative in their beliefs or more observant in their practice?

If so, I think that would be very different from what I have observed among Christians. The ones who are non-observant, like my lovely idol-worshipping wife, do not seem to feel guilty if they do not attend church. They seem to take the parts of their religion that make them feel better and ignore the rest.

Some do, some don't. Everyone's different.

Why would they?

Which basically characterizes the formation of every religious doctrine that has ever existed.

That is true. It also explains why there are so many religions (and sub divisions like denominations).

I have known quite a few people who were brought up Orthodox and then don't follow the ways. But none of them go to a reform place of worship.

This response is related to Deborah Feldman.

Per another thread you asked how it was inferred you were a woman. As a Haredi, how else would you know her "personally" other than being a Woman?
