Could you make a new thread about it? I'd be curious to see.

It would need to go in the Debate forum based on passed history in this and the POC forums. But here's a link to read:

Thanks. Are theflipflop and iwishiwerewithin, modern orthodox or haredi? Any of you can answer, I'm just wondering because you two both seem to be quite a bit more critical of others views and I just wanted to know if that was why.

I will only speak for myself. I am an Orthodox Jew. If you want to call me a Torah Observant Jew, that term would be correct as well. The term Charedi is used almost exclusively in Israel. I've never met a single Torah Observant Jew in America who would self describe as Charedi. And the term "Ultra Orthodox" is a pejorative term used by non-observant Jews to denigrate their more observant counterparts.

There are really only two types of Jews: those who are Torah Observant and those who are not. Regardless, we're all Jews.

Iwish is correct that Pruzhany's ideas that the Talmud is no longer applicable, or that it has somehow is less important than the written Torah (and therefore Rosh Hashana is now suddenly a one day holiday) is not a Jewish concept.

Must we argue about everything here, and trumpet this constant one-upmanship in each and every thread?
My only wish is to clearly define viewpoints of Torah Observant Jews.

FYI, this website is not a kosher Jewish website. It's a site written by and for Jews who used to be Torah Observant, who for a variety of reasons have turned away from the Torah and now choose to attack it and attack those who are careful to guard the Torah and its mitzvos.

Read the site if any of you choose. It might be insightful. But it will not give you a Jewish viewpoint on anything. Only a viewpoint of those who have turned their back on the Torah.

The only "views" I am critical of are those that are antithetical to Torah and Judaism, especially those masquerading as legitimate.

Any website whose sole purpose is to denigrate the Torah and those who guard it is not kosher.

Not true~! Reforms do things different ways than the Orthodox which take things too much to the extreme~!

Do you know why the Reform do not follow the Torah's instruction on Rosh Hashana being a 2-day Yom Tov?
