I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders. ~Jewish Proverb
May love and light fill your home and heart at Hanukkah. ~Author Unknown
I found this quote and thought it fitting and funny!
In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it "Christmas" and went to church; the Jews called it "Hanukkah" and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Hanukkah!" or (to the atheists) "Look out for the wall!" ~Dave Barry

LOL kawg, and I love that proverb! Chanukah is a beautifully simple holiday, and one that I've always enjoyed... even without gift-giving, which we do less of as we get older. I am looking forward to spoiling my niece, though, seeing as it's her first Chanukah AND Christmas (they're an inter-faith couple). Children are always fun to shop for, aren't they?

Ahhhh yes...this will be my granddaughter's first Christmas! She will be almost 6 months old come Christmas morning! (She was born the 4th of July). I do look forward to shopping for her on her first Christmas.
I also have 4 children of my own 6, 12, 16 and 17...PLUS my 15 yr old nephew...plenty of children to shop for around here!
Happy Hanukkah to you guys! Do you celebrate in anyway on the first night of it other than the lighting of the first candle?
