Jews are allowed to live in non-Jewish neighborhoods, but it's much much easier to keep more of the mitzvoth if you live in a Jewish neighborhood, where certain amenities will be readily available. You know?

If a Jew does not live in walking distance to the shul he attends, it's a direct reflection on either/both their level of Torah observance and/or their Jewish outlook.

A Jew who chooses to live in the neighborhood with the "choice homes" in lieu of the neighborhood that permits them to observe the Sabbath properly is telegraphing not just their distance to their shul but also their distance from Hashem.

Keep in mind that there are some who you use the word "Shul" loosely. Is many instances its a home or a part of one.

Your right This is happening in my neighborhood right now from what I hear and what I've seen. They literally have come out and asked the neighbors to sell their house to them or tell them why they shouldn't live here. I live in a mixed neighborhood of all religions, colors and ethnicity. We've all gotten along together despite faith coming in-between our friendships.
