Well first off that webmaster needs to do some updates. That looks like it from geocities in the late 90s!

So reporting on all these awful things and raising awareness is important, but how can we help our fellow brethren in these awful situations and actually try to fix the problems? I know there is that organization that helps people who have fled the community integrate into real society and that is fantastic. Are there any other things like that?

Here's what I think the main problems are that lead to such a dysfunctional community: 1) people within the community aren't willing to go to the authorities and report criminal behavior. 2) it's "ok" to screw over/defraud people who are not part of the community. 3) such a fear of being shunned from the community there is never anyone who can speak out against unjust practices.

That is a very good point, Tikva.

I think religious teachings can be very beneficial, but common sense comes first.

In other words, your god didn't give you a brain just so someone else can tell you what to think.
