i am only a simple jew not so fortunate to be educated or study Talmud, but i know how important it is for jews to study and learn torah. Moses win the battle for Israel by holding up his arms to Hashem, and when his arms get tired, others hold up his arms. The jews who study and learn Torah, every one of them is holding up the arms of Moses, they keep us turning towards Hashem.

and if a person does not have the good fortune to succeed in study and practice of Torah and Talmud, we do not try to keep others from doing so, we want every jew to draw close to Hashem

My company was once subcontracted to do Medicaid eligibility audits in Kiryas Joel.

Never quite felt like I had such a large target on my back as those few days of my life.

The animosity towards me was palpable.

For what it's worth the repeated marrying of first cousins has resulted in some truly bizarre chromosome shuffling there, so...yeah.
