Jews from around the world gathered at the Western Wall for selichot prayers, marking the penitential season with liturgical prayers asking for repentance and recognizing God's domain as king of the world.

Slichos should take about an hour tomorrow, then Shacharis then hetaris nedarim. Throw in an hour of learning in a Tur/Shulchan Aruch Niddah shiur before all that, and well, Id better get myself off to sleep now.

Sleep? What? Selichot is late at night a little past midnight on the Saturday before Rosh Hashanah. As it fell on a Sunday this year you are a week late as you should've done it starting 9/1. If you were other than Ashkenazi it would've been the entire month of Elul. Shacharit is not following Selichot, it's done at first light or dawn. Then you can take a nap as Hatarat Nedarim was a little before noon (for me it past already as I'm in Israel, 4:20pm).
