Does anyone here have a pet with a Jewish name? By Jewish name, I mean either a Hebrew or Yiddish name (like "Zahava" or "Golda" for a golden retriever), or something like "Kugel" or "Bialy" (for a pet that likes food a lot, I guess). If you have, I'd love to hear what name(s) you've chosen and why.

I have a dog named Rufus. . . It's not a Hebrew name. It comes from canis rufus meaning grey red wolf. But he should have been given a Hebrew name. His Bark Mitzvah is coming up soon.

@theflipflop: I'm picturing your friend's dogs as being very small!

@Jacob II: "Bark Mitzvah!" LOL! (Lovely picture of Rufus!)

Good that you gve them nicknames. Hard to call a dog those full names in the heat of the moment.
