Thanks, JB. Is it a lot different by hand than with the Kitchen Aid? My mother and I used to bake by hand when I was young, and I'll admit, it takes some of the joy out of it when I have to do it now.
I'm horrible. I buy our challah from a popular jewish deli every Friday morning for my family.
But when school is in session I make challah with my group of kids and all by hand every week.
We make the dough on Thursday, braid and bake on Friday morning.

Doing it by hand is definitely a lot more work (that's why I have the teenager help ).
