Hi all,

A person special to me is giving High Holidays gifts to their friends. What should I prepare to give this person? Honey, or something else?

Thanks!

Expensive temptation, right?

There are some really gorgeous mezuzot at that site. Here's a link to one that I received as a gift and put on my bedroom doorway:

Is there an appropriate a high holiday gift to bring to someone hosting you for Rosh Hashana in a completely different location (meaning one that entails a plane ride to get there)?

If you're bringing checked-in luggage, then you can pack a couple bottles of a nice kosher wine. Just be aware that you can't bring the wine on board the plane in your carry-on luggage. Also, you can't pack more than 5 liters in your checked-in luggage, which would be more than 5 bottles of wine -- way too much wine. (I can't believe I'm saying that anyone can have way too much wine!)

No checked-in luggage, just a carry-on - so kosher wine won't work.

You could order the wine online from a kosher wine-dealer and have it delivered ahead of time to your hostess's address. I've sent kosher wine gifts before through online purchases. Best of all, you'll have more room in your carry-on luggage, without having to pack a gift as well!
