I'm Jewish... although I'm a bit undecided as to what to believe these days..
I did go to synagogue on Friday night and it was a great, and peaceful experience..

I'm Jewish, too. What did you have in mind to discuss? (Just please keep in mind that I'm not a rabbi!)

I think the Hasidim do. Kiryas Joel, New York I think is full of large Jewish families.

Judaism in the US is more common than the Seventh-Day Adventists, or maybe than all Adventist groups combined, from what I can tell. I don't know the respective stats in the UK or Canada though.

My mother is Jewish, but my father is from Finland, a gentile. I am not considered a Jew because I was not raised in the Jewish traditions. My parrents both became Christians before I was born, so I was raised Christian.

Also, my mother is from the Ukraine. I am under the impression that her family are Ashkenazi Jews from the Rhine. And I have heard that the Ashkenazi Jews are not real Jews. What does that mean? I think that you can be both blood related Jewish or Convert. I think that the Ashkenazi if not blood related still are converted Jews.

Of course Ashkenazi Jews are real Jews. Ashkenazi is just a regional "classification," so to speak, signifying origins in middle-and-eastern Europe...as opposed to Sephardic Jews, who originated on the Iberian peninsula. (Although for modern purposes, Sephardic is often used to describe Jews who are Asian, Persian, and African in origin as well.) Most of the Jews in the US are Ashkenazi Jews and trace their ancestry to Poland, Germany, Russia, and "Eastern-bloc" countries.

I agree, It is just odd that Jews from this area would be classified as non-Jews. I have heard that here on R&P.
