Nice pics.
I remember seeing the old guy in the blue Honda at Half Price Books in Westport many times.

I took that pic at Nichol's diner a while back before it became Mama's. Lots of bizarre characters hung out there. He tends to hang at Chubby's diner now.

Wonderful, ecclectic mix. They really show the diversity in KC that lots of people don't know exists. Good job! Thanks for the posting.

These are great Xeno. I'm thinking of making some of them into a sort of scavenger hunt for myself one weekend.

By the way, is the tiled dome an Orthodox church? Or a mosque? Or just a random building with the dome as a decorative detail (we have several of those here in Fla.)

I would be interested in an Orthodox church, especially Russian or Greek, in town. Just wondering...

And what on earth is the building with the heads where the gargoyles would be? That is truly strange!

I'm not sure which dome you are talking about. The Plaza architecture is modeled after Seville Spain - none of those are churches. There is a pic of a gold dome that is a church downtown. Which pic?

The building with heads is on W Plaza, I think art institute students put those up. They have been taken down recently, I think since going condo. Many have complained - hopefully they go back up some day.

I mean the 8th pic up from the bottom. Probably plaza from Seville. It is very moorish looking, which is why it looks a bit like a mosque. I see the other one that is probably a church. I am interested in Orthodox churches and mosques (my husband was raised Russian orthodox, my daughter was born in a Muslim country) and haven't seen any in KC so I was just curious.
