So how was this event? Seems odd to have such an event in the blazing heat of august in the middle of a vast no shade area like the speedway.

It was awesome. I had a blast. It was a well-organized, well-ran event with lots of activities, the sound and visuals for all the shows was incredible, and they supplied lots of places to get away from the heat and there was a place to refill water bottles at every turn.
Muse put on what is one of the best shows I have ever seen. They were incredible.

I am not sure what their goal was. Capacity was 100k. From what I read they got about 40k on Friday and 35k on Saturday.
I think it would do better if they didnt do it when it was 100 degrees outside like the first half of June or in September.
It is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews from those in attendance. The only people that I have seen that have had bad things to say are those that got VIP. If you get VIP to a music festival you are a moron anyway. You basically pay more money to separate yourself from the party and are not going to have the experience everyone else does.
