Big and popular, that's the way to go! haha. I flew a 70 passenger Frontier plane to Minneapolis from KC and it jerked me and pulled me every minute, maybe it was the weather, but I'm sure the small plane had something to do with it.

The larger the plane, the less it gets tossed around in turbulence.

Why hasn't Frontier expanded more in Kansas City?

I just read yesterday in the Denver Post that Frontier is adding a "seasonal" non-stop flight from KCI to Tampa.

^Yeah I heard that as well... Two times a week, starting at $99 -- that's a pretty good price for flights to Florida. I think it's from January to April.

I had not heard the Tampa news, good for KC and Frontier. Frontier really seems to be targeting Southwest in the KC market. First Vegas and Houston, then Orlando and Tampa. Hopefully Phoenix will be added in the future! That would really boost Frontier travel in and out of KC. 2012 may be a big year for KC air travel.

Would be nice if Frontier could pickup some nonstop markets that other airlines aren't covering. KCI used to have just a few years ago over 70 non-stop airports, now it's down to about 50 or so.

Ya a Pittsburgh route would be nice. KCI lost service on both San Antonio and Columbus, OH. I wonder why because only a daily departure or a few a week would seem to be enough for these markets.

I also think KC would make a great regional hub for Frontier, like Denver is. Think of it, we could be a huge regional hub for Tulsa, Wichita, Omaha, Des Moines, Little Rock, Branson-Springfield, and Manhattan routes would make for a great regional hub for the entire midwest. And it would really boost business, not only for Frontier in KC, but in the other cities mentioned.

But you still have the problem of KCI being unacceptable for hub activity. When you have to get off your plane, leave the secure area, and then go back through security without being able to eat, that's a problem. Nobody wants to change planes at KCI. And anyone I've heard from who did have to change planes there complained about it. A new terminal/concourses will be the only way KCI will ever have any real hub activity.
