So, my fiance and I MAY be moving to Kansas City for his job. It's just us and two cats for now. But, we know NOTHING about the area.
We've both basically lived in Memphis and the surrounding area our entire lives, so we're not that new to city life.
However, I wouldn't mind some recommendations for housing areas. That's our main concern right now. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

If you share a little more about the kind of housing you like (new/old, single family/condo), what kind of neighborhoods you like, and what your approximate budget will be, we could definitely offer more tailored suggestions.

In general, stay around Westport, the Plaza or the River Market. The thing with KC, either KCK or KCMO is that many of the neighborhoods have a good mix of it all. If you're in one of the surrounding towns, like OP (Overland Park) or Parkville, they're pretty consistent and you can live anywhere. Best thing to do is get something super short-term just so you can get to learn the area before committing to anything long-term.

check out the wiki on KC- Kansas City, Missouri - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia we have tons of different neighborhoods, from the ghetto to the multi-million dollar mansions. If you want to rent, possibly check out forrent.com and put in all your requirements. You can live right in the middle of things or you can look at somewhere like Parkville or Gardner, which are smaller, quiet towns nearby. Let us know what you're looking for and we can help you! I hope you enjoy KC, it's a laid back place with quite a bit to do. The Pitch magazine ( The Pitch ) has a calendar of events of all sorts and it's usually pretty comprehensive. Ink Magazine also has current events listed in case you want to go see a band, etc. Good luck!!!
