What do you ppl think about this part of the city. Has there been any serious criminal incidents here? I am looking to lease an apartment for 6 months. I will be grateful for any and all advices. Thank you.

If you are West of Holmes Rd. I'd suggest you are probably just fine. There may be some property crime related to breaking in to cars when people leave items in view. But, I'd suggest violent crime in that area is rare. The area is comprised of private schools, county parks, neighborhood shopping/dining, fast food, DeVry Institute, several churches and at least one nursing home type facility. Housing in the area is apartments, duplexes/triplexes, patio homes, and single family. It is a basically "unremarkable" part of town, not much happens there.

Thanks for your reply. What do you think of Timberlake apartments? Its not exactly on the west part of Holmes road but it is pretty close to it. I visited the place once and it looks really nice.

I couldn't speak to any specific apartment complex. I grew up in the area and had immediate family who lived there until this past year. They were in the area between Wornall and Holmes Rd.

Ok, I just pulled the complex website and map up. The area East of Blue River Rd. is not Red Bridge even though it is off of Red Bridge Rd. .

Honestly, I'm going to suggest you call the South Patrol office of the KCMO PD and ask to speak with a neighborhood police officer who can address area crime with you.

The area in general is very heavily affiliated with the International House of Prayer...I don't know if the Timberlake Apartments are owned by this religious organization, but I do know that some apartment housing along that stretch of Red Bridge Road is, and the group, which also owns a real estate management company, is very pervasive in the area. Something to think about if you're not affiliated with said organization (or if you are, as well, I suppose).

Yeah, we have friends who live in that neighborhood who are not IHOPpers, but all their neighbors are. It's interesting.

The wife of the IHOP founder is a real estate agent, she buys all the properties for everything IHOP related, suggests members where to live, etc.

probably makes more financial sense than waiting around for tithes and donations from parishioners.
