Congress Avenue Bridge Bats in Austin Texas - When and Where to See The Congress Avenue Bridge Bats

You should come down since you like photography and this city is pretty photogenic even outside of downtown. If you want to ride the metro-rail, it only runs on weekdays.. FYI
Thanks, I have been to Austin many times, but have never seen the bats in person. They were on the news once while I was in town! But it does sound cool.

I will actually be there next weekend (as well as Houston). Maybe you could give me an idea of how the area looks right now? Is it extremely brown? Lots of overcast? I am mostly after night shots, so it doesnt' matter much, but if it's somewhat green and blue skies, I may get up in the air.

It's not as brown as it was since there's been regular, measurable rain in the past couple of months. But still things got baked pretty bad with the heat and drought last summer. Around this time of year, its overcast maybe two or three days a week.
