66 Bucks a day is kind of steep, you can rent a car for a day at like the Midtown Enterprise or Avis for like 30 bucks for the whole day with unlimited miles. Do you have to fill it back up with gas?

A lot of people use zip cars around here and they are not really for day rentals, but hourly stuff, short drive, errands etc. Seems like when people want to rent for a day, they go to a rental place like if they want to take a car to the beach or something.

^Exactly. Zip Car is great for a trip to Trader Joe's, to take your pup to the vet or to get to a doctor's appointment in Shawnee or something. Also remember that ZipCar covers insurance so you don't have to -- a big part of your yearly fee (looks to be $50 in KC) and your hourly fee go to that alone. Think about the $1000-1500 a year we all spend on insurance.
But when you want to run away to the Ozarks for the weekend, renting a car through a traditional service is still the best way to go.

One key reason they start in university areas is because they allow 18yo drivers whereas most car rentals don't allow drivers under 25. KC and Chicago are only two Midwest metros with ZipCar, other than college towns. And..

How does zipcar work? Where are the cars located? How do you get to the car? Can you take the car from one location and leave it at another?

Sounds like for their university locations, you can't leave the car in other locations.

You need to reserve via internet or phone app to get access to car. Can just drop off back in spot and not have to do anything to 'checkout'.
